CRAIC is a print publication exploring heritage, identity and culture in Northern Ireland.

Seeking to capture the nuance and dynamism of contemporary youth culture, Craic sidesteps easy cliches around the complex history of the North (of Ireland), instead acting as a vehicle for its rich visual lexicon, humour and the energy of a new generation.

Craic was initiated as a response to frustrations around the time of Brexit which caused a flare up in violence and unrest, resulting in negative depictions of Northern Ireland in the media.

Past issues have featured the work of local artists and photographers including Aoife Murray, Arann McCormack, Billie-Jane Stringer, Brian Lincoln, Hannah De hÓra Byrne, Jack Farrar, Matt Spratt, Ruairi Bradley, Seán Óg Ó Murchú and Shannon Ritchie.

The magazine’s activities aren’t limited to pages either. The magazine has previously teamed up with fellow Irish food title Guzzle, Irish collective Croí na Gaeilge and AVA Festival to help celebrate their 10th anniversary.
